I°) Apparatus :
The radial maze has a metallic structure covered of PVC, which forms a central part of a 8 arms' structure. A detection system permits to localise animal in the central part or in the arms. Entry in each arm can be forbidden thanks to automatic doors.At each extremity there is a trough with a pellet dispenser.

This apparatus is connected to an electronic interface, which permits the communication with the computer.


II°)Software:

The software for windows permits:

* exercises' edition, exercises' library creation,
* to pilot the exercise: To open/close doors, presentation or not of rewards, to confine animal to centre,
* the graphic follow-up,
* the management by sessions,
* data record,
* record replay.

Another module of the software permits to manage some outputs variables like:

Errors in working memory;
Errors in reference memory;
Good responses;
Strategy;
Lateralisation;
Hesitation...
