I°) Apparatus :

* 2 partitions: 1 lighted ( aversive ) , the other is dark,

* An automatic door between the two partitions,

* An electric floor in the dark partition ( scrambler ),

* A system to localise animal and to measure its rearings.

 

This apparatus is connected to an electronic interface, which permits the communication with the computer.

II°)Software:

A software for windows permits to have:

 

* A graphic follow-up,

* A localisation and activity measure,

* A management to open or close the door and to command "scrambler",

* A record of data,

* A replay.

* Moreover, the system is sold with a program which permits to manage recorded experiments. It permits notably to combine your files so as to compare results and to gain disk space. The output variables' presentations and their kinetics can be visualised either with whatever software which accepts the text format (Notepad, Wordpad, Word...) or with EXCEL.
